Call For Singers: Pioneer Valley Cappella
Pioneer Valley Cappella, an auditioned chamber chorus under the direction of Wayne Abercrombie, seeks experienced singers for our 2010-2011 season. Sopranos are particularly needed.
Based in Northampton, PVC has been performing mostly unaccompanied choral music for over twenty-five years. Under our new conductor, Dr. E. Wayne Abercrombie, we explore a fascinating range of repertoire from early Renaissance to contemporary, from the Americas to Eastern Europe. This coming season our programs will be The Varieties of Choral Music in the Americas, and The Gold Standard: Choral Music Composed and Loved by Bach and Brahms.
Wayne Abercrombie is Professor Emeritus of Music and former Director of Choral Programs, University of Massachusetts/Amherst, where he conducted and taught conducting, worked with the Music Education program, and directed the graduate program in choral conducting. He is founding conductor of the new Children’s Chorus of Springfield, now in its fourth season.
Rehearsals are Thursday evenings 7:30-9:30 PM beginning September 2. To request an audition or for details, visit www.pioneervalleycappella.org.
